Rehoming Animals Mentioned On The Forum

Please note that unless a dog has been specifically rehomed by the AR&W, we can't be held responsible for the rehoming.

We pay for insurance against dogs attacking our reps. If, during an "official" rehoming, a dog bites anybody, we have comprehensive insurance to cover this. However, this insurance only applies when:

1. The dog has been assessed and is officially on our books

2. The new owner has similarly been assessed

3. The rehoming itself (i.e. the moving of the dog) is being carried out with our knowledge and by one of our reps acting officially for the AR&W

If any of the three points above are not the case during a rehoming, then I'm afraid that the AR&W can't be held liable for any repercussions.

We don't want to quell in any way the enthusiasm for rehoming these wonderful animals. However, what we need to guard against is an animal being rehomed unsuccessfully as a result of messages on this forum, and the AR&W being held to account as a result.

Usage Guidlines

The Forums on this site have been created to promote the ethical humane treatment of Akitas and responsible ownership through education, and to allow Akita enthusiasts to share stories, ask questions, and discuss issuess related to Akitas.

There are only a few guidelines to follow:

1. Treat other members with respect, even if their question or posting seems obvious or naive to you.

2. Please do not post details of any dogs on this Forum unless the AR&W know that you are doing this. This is an open forum, and we must not be seen to be using it to "advertise" dogs in need. If you know of a dog that needs rehoming, please in the first instance contact the AR&W. This can be done by ringing our national helpline number 0345 260 2206 or by emailing via the contact us page.

3. The Forums must never be used for any commercial purposes. Anyone advertising breeding services or trying to sell animals will immediately be banned. This also includes topics that appear to be advertising or soliciting for business.

4. Topics should pertain to Akitas or Akita-related issues.

5. No profanity or vulgar statements will be tolerated.

6. Contributors who are constantly argumentative, confrontational, or lacking in respect for others will be removed.
